The best of America drifts to Paris. The American in Paris is the best American. It is more fun for an intelligent person to live in an intelligent country. France has the only two things toward which we drift as we grow older—intelligence and good manners.

I have two loves: my country and Paris.

I have tried to lift France out of the mud. But she will return to her errors and vomitings. I cannot prevent the French from being French.

No idea to what Rive Droite and Rive Gauche are referring. Guess I don't need a bag! :)
@Holly I'll consider you in the running in the spirit of Paris education! :)
La Mom
An American Mom in Paris
I love Kasia's designs! I have one of her non-printed bags but I've had my eye on the Rive Droite bag for a while now. Why? Who isn't a fan of the Canal St. Martin? The Marais? Buttes Chaumont? Belleville? Oberkampf? These are all my favorite places - lively, multi-cultural and full of good eats!
I am 100% Rive Droite !
But do I have to choose?? And I do need a bag because you can never have too many bags.
Rive Droite! That's where I live...
And I need some bags...they seem to disappear on me
Tres Chic.
Hmmm having only been to Paris twice, but longing so much to go back. It is probably a cliche, but I have to say Rive Gauche. Fitzgerald is my favourite autor and to walk the street he walked in when writing about "posh" Paris, might give me a kick in the butt to start writing "the novel" myself.
I would LOVE to own a bag and will use it to tease my lovely french friend which I am sure does not have one!
Rive Gauche Bien Sur! Why? Just because it sounds so; well French :)
J'adore Paris!
The video is perfect! Kasia you are so charming! Fabulous post on a great designer/artist and person!!!
I am most definitely Rive Droite and would love to show off my Right-Bank pride with a lovely Kasia Dietz design!
Rive Gauche all the way! We (Duke) have a semester study abroad program there in the 6th. (Rue Saint-André des Arts)
Rive Gauche, so it will match my heart and my perfume. (jk -- have no idea what the fragrance is like. I'm a Coco girl, actually.)
Rive Gauche: where I lost my Paris virginity. (Too gauche? :D)
Here in conservative New Hampshire, I'm on The Left (a la gauche) just to piss people off and keep them wondering when I smile and do something nice for them. However, I live East (by the map ... a la droite). WTF?
Making someone take "sides" in Paris? Oh Mon Dieu! C'est pas possible! Both sides of the river are in Paris and that means both sides are perfection.
Happy Bastille Day! Vive la France!
Robin
I'm a Rive Droite girl. Because that's where I left my heart in January...
(Love that photo of Kasia!)
I have never been to Paris, but to my knowledge this is like picking between uptown and downtown NYC, or more specifically: the Village or the Upper East Side?
I am much more studs and boxo maxi dresses than Birkins and pearls, so I'm going to go with Rive Gauche :-)
I'll take one of each!
Love both! The apartemet I stay in is on Rive Gauche, but then again the Marais is on Rive Droite.St Germain which I love,Gauche... I think I am Rive Drauche!!!!!!!!!(that could be another bag!)My alligiance lies wherever I can get a good bottle of wine, frites, steak hache, escargots, cheese and fois gras.Love the idea!Maryannexo
The Rive Droite of course... There's nothing better than people watching at Cafe Angelina on the Rue de Rivoli whilst indulging in a cup of their decadently divine Chocolat l'Africain.
And the winner is????? ;-)
Rive droite... in Versailles :))
Love strolling through le Marais, wondering around the Palais Royal & les Grands Boulevards, yes, I have to admit that I also like the 'chique' of the Rive Droite... Honoust enough??
Lovely bag idea by the way!!
Bisous from Versailles, Chantal
@TN The winner will be announced on tomorrow's Frenchy Friday -- stay tuned! And mille mercis for all the fantastic entries!
To be honest, I have no idea... it has been a long time since I have been to Paris! I must say that I really love the bag idea and I am a fan of French Designer Kasia Dietz!
