Birds do it, bees do it...

In case you were wondering, spring has definitely sprung in Paris.

Just ask these ladybugs, who seem to have caught more than their fair share of spring fever in this wine ad:

What happens when French ladybugs get drunk:  A cautionary tale.

Translation: "Finally! A really natural Muscat wine!" Those bugs sure are au naturel, heh heh.
Now can someone explain to me what French wine has to do with getting it on? Oh, wait -- I just answered my own question. That's how more than one of my expat friends became mamans.

Enjoy the Parisian spring, mes amis!

Kisses, (but not the French kind)

I saw these producers and their labels/signs at the Bio wine fair recently held here in the Languedoc.
Hard for me to take this wine seriously with that label. lol

What a very odd sign!! I'm wondering how many people have bought that Muscat...

I lived in Paris for a year and one of my favourite aspects of life as an expat was the kind of cultural distance to recognise just how weird some advertising is.

WOW. Um, pourquoi pas?! Just another example of that goofy French sense of humor.

Happy spring from a still very chilly NYC!

Hey loyal lecteurs,

One of my Twitter pals, @twotribes, sent me this bizzaro ladybug ad for Peugeot:

Is there something I'm not getting about the French fascination with sexy ladybugs? Expliquez-moi, SVP!

I don't think it's just expat moms in France who've fallen victim to a couple of drinks and woken up with a whole new addition to the family!

What I love most is that the French don't fear being censored and can actually get away with this. If this were to be on ANYTHING in my home state, every church and politician would have a petition to "protect the children" from indecency.

I love it! As much as wine has a lot to do with getting it on with the next ladybug, the advert certainly caught everybody's attention, hasn't it? Job done.
